Remember to vote this Tuesday

This coming Tuesday, Feb. 5, will be the runoff election for the open state Senate District 11 seat. Bainbridge native Dr. Dean Burke and Coolidge native Mike Keown are the candidates vying to replace former state Sen. John Bulloch, who resigned in December.
In January, we endorsed Burke for the seat against five other candidates. We still believe that Burke is the best choice for Decatur County and District 11.
A physician by trade, Burke is a small businessman who has created jobs and understands the importance of fiscal responsibility. Since he is from Bainbridge, Burke will make sure that Decatur County has a strong voice in Atlanta.
Although Burke works in the private sector, he is no stranger to serving in government. He was a Bainbridge City Council member from 2007 until 2012, and has also been a member of the Georgia Board for Physician Workforce and the Lower Flint District Planning Board. We believe that Burke has the perfect mix of business and political experience and will make an outstanding state Senator for District 11.
We ask everyone to do your civic duty on Tuesday, if you haven’t already taken part in the early voting. The polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. Because this is a runoff election, the results will likely be close enough that your vote will make a huge difference.
We’ll see you at the polls.
