Otis W. Hatcher, 88, of Austell, Ga., passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2013.
The graveside funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2013, at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery, with Pastor Jeff Stapleton officiating.

Mr. Hatcher was born Aug. 26, 1924, in Brinson, the son of Smiley Byron Hatcher Sr. and Ola Selena Willis Hatcher. He served in the U.S. Army with the occupying force in Japan, after Japan accepted defeat in World War II. After re-enlisting, he was awarded the Purple Heart for his service in the Korean War. Mr. Hatcher worked as an electrical engineer for Georgia Power for 38 years, and was a member of the Masonic Lodge for more than 60 years. He enjoyed gardening, especially growing vegetables.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Minnie Lee Rich Hatcher; his daughter, Dovey Davis; his brothers, Gordon Hatcher, Ernest Hatcher, Sherriel Hatcher, S. B. Hatcher Jr. and Lawrence Hatcher; and his grandson, Thomas Hatcher.
Survivors include his son, Otis Hatcher Jr. of Dallas, Texas; his daughter, Dee Ann Hatcher of Marietta, Ga.; his sister, Fay White of Bainbridge; his grandchildren, Katie Merrill, Wyatt Davis, and Margaret Leigh Hatcher; and his five great-grandchildren.
