Lucian Mitchell May, 60, passed away July 16, 2013, at his residence in Quincy, Fla.
He was born May 28, 1953, to Lucian Fennell May and the late Yvonne Wimberley May. Mitchell graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Agronomy and a Master’s in Fisheries and Aquatic Science. He was employed through the University of Georgia Cooperative Extension Service as the county extension coordinator for Decatur County.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara May; step-son, Stephen Fruzan and wife, Melissa; father, Lucian Fennell May; sister, Mary Katherine Faircloth and husband, Neal; sister, Jane McDonald and husband Mike; brother, Joe May and wife, Karen; nieces, Josie May, Becca McDonald and Katherine McDonald; nephews, Perry May, Chris Faircloth and Timothy Faircloth.
Mitchell had a passion for the outdoors and working with the farmers of Decatur County. He had a unique sense of humor, memorable grin and was a great storyteller.
Services were held Thursday, July 18, at First Presbyterian Church in Quincy. A private interment was held prior to the service at Old Philadelphia Church Cemetery.
