This Friday, students in Decatur County Schools will once again return to their classrooms for another school year.

That also means that there will be school buses back on the roads, and students crossing city streets in the morning and afternoon. As motorists, let’s all be extra careful and patient when our schools are having arrivals and dismissals.

Please slow down in school zones, not only because it is the law, but also to keep our children safe. Remember, it is illegal to pass a stopped school bus.

Slow down and be a little extra patient, and let’s make sure that there’s no tragic accidents during the 2013-14 school year.
