Blakely, Ga. – Nine Bainbridge State College students graduated from the Licensed Practical Nursing program and were recognized in a pinning ceremony on Aug. 1 at the Early County Center in Blakely.
Joann Simpson, the dean of the Early County Center, congratulated the first class of nursing students graduating as Bainbridge State College LPN graduates.
The licensed practical nursing program is a 15-month program.
“It’s been tough. It’s been a long, hard journey, but it will be worth it,” Simpson told the graduates and the overflowing crowd of family and friends joining the ceremony.
Myra Davis of Donalsonville, who also won the Rose Bud Award for most improved student, gave the student welcome. Christie Troupe earned the Team Award; Delores Heard of Bainbridge earned the Academic Excellence award; Temekia Miller of Edison was given the Most Supportive award, and Bobbi Taylor Perryman of Donalsonville was given the Leadership award.
While Assistant Professor of Practical Nursing Patricia Browers and nursing Instructor Heather Smith pinned each graduate, Simpson read from comments the students wrote, many thanking those who supported them during their classes and clinicals.
