Betty E. Davis, 82, of Bainbridge, passed away Friday, Nov. 1, 2013 at Memorial Manor Nursing Home.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013 at Bethany Baptist Church with Rev. Calvin Arnold officiating. Interment will follow at Brinson Cemetery with Jimmy Earp, Daryl Odom, Philip Davis, Thomas Davis, Daniel Davis, and Jimmy Slocumb serving as active pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at Ivey Funeral Home.
Mrs. Davis was born May 20, 1931 in Bainbridge, Ga., the daughter of Paul M. Earp and Minnie Lee Powell Earp.
She was a graduate of Brinson High School
and married Philip C. Davis on April 28, 1951.
Mrs. Davis worked for Duncan Electric for 10 years and retired as a bookkeeper from Columbian Peanut
Company after 16 years.
She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church where she played the organ for many years. Mrs. Davis enjoyed many hours using her skills as an artist, both painting and teaching others.
Survivors include her children, Richard K Davis and his wife, Victoria,
Steve Davis and his wife, Vicki, and Sherri D. Dollar and her husband, Billy; her seven grandchildren; and her five great-grandchildren. Along with her
parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Philip C. Davis; her siblings, Don Earp, Jessie Earp, and Danny Earp.
The family would like to thank Mrs. Davis’s devoted care-givers Flint River Hospice, Agnes Scott, Viola Griffin, and Cynthia Sullivan.
