The Compassionate Friends of Southwest Georgia is a group of parents who have lost a child.
Their advisory board has been established. Its member include Pastor Steve Brooks, Rodney Prince, Peter Brooton 111, Max Bryant from Ivey Funeral Home, Carla Robinson, Suzanne Angell and Jerry Bostick.
The group’s purpose is to transfer the pain of grief into hope. It lets those who have lost children express their grief naturally. The newly bereaved get an opportunity to see people who have survived and are learning to live and love again.
The Compassionate Friends of Southwest Georgia was chartered August 30, 2013. June Faircloth and Carla Robinson are co-chapter leaders of the steering committee.
The group plans to begin fund raising and chapter awareness activities.
They will participate in the Worldwide Candle Lighting Service December 8 at 7 p.m.
