The Bainbridge eighth grade Lady Cats took the court Tuesday against the Pelham Lady Hornets with hopes of earning a win after losing to them in the season opener. However, the Bearcats fell short 23-13 in the rematch.
“They missed a lot of shots,” said Lady Cats coach Dorothy Pierce. “However, they demonstrated a tremendous amount of hustle the entire game.”
Cheriteria Jones was able to throw up four points, with Kiarra King behind her at three points. The low scoring game was a result of not being able to make their baskets, Pierce said.
“We have to continue to work on making baskets and eliminating turnovers,” Pierce said.
“There were a lot of missed opportunities and mental mistakes,” Pierce said. “But overall, I was proud of their performance. We will once again work on scoring, fundamentals, defense and conditioning.”
