Joyce Cooper Dorminey, 75, of Bainbridge, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 7, at Bainbridge Healthcare.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 10, at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Emory Smith and Rev. Donna Sue Roberts officiating. Interment followed at Greenshade Cemetery with Jeff Jeter, Greg Jeter, Kyle Duke, Ronnie Spooner, Marty Thomas, Stanley Olivent, serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Mitt Jeter, Colby German, Casey Hyatt, Kevin Rowan, Zack Givens, and Matt Rowan. Memorial donations may be made to Faceville United Methodist Church, c/o Pastor Emory Smith, 2105 Faceville-Attapulgus Road, Bainbridge, GA 39819.
Mrs. Dorminey was born June 1, 1938 in Two Egg, Fla., the daughter of Zack Howard Hyatt and Laura Elizabeth Smith Hyatt. She was a graduate of Faceville High School, Class of 1956, and retired as a case manager for Decatur Seminole Training Center.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Bill Cooper; her brother, Buddy Hyatt; and her brother-in-law, Gerald Little.
Survivors include her husband, Oliver Clyde Dorminey of Bainbridge; her nieces and nephews, Ronald Hyatt, and his wife, Niven, of Faceville, Chris Hyatt of Faceville, Chad Hyatt of Tallahassee, Fla., Tanner Hyatt of Bainbridge, Natalie Little of Carrabelle, Fla., and Kim Rowan and her husband, Matt, of Quincy, Fla.; her sister, Jean Little of Quincy; her brother-in-law, Garthon Dorminey, and his wife, Ann; her sister-in-law, Hilda Fletcher; two great-nieces; four great nephews; and three great-great nephews.
Ivey Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
