Clifford Gilbourn

Mr. Clifford Gilbourn, 85, a native of Decatur County, Ga., passed away in Marianna, Fla. Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014. He had lived in Sneads, Fla. Since 1955, and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Chattahoochee.
Clifford had retired as a baker with the Florida State Hospital after 27 and one-half years and did what he loved, which was hunting and fishing. He also served two years in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict.
He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Annie Mae Smith Gilbourn; four sisters, Florence Ard, Mary Lee Whitney, Effie Strickland and Pearl Alday; three brothers, Henry and Jeff Gilbourn and D.A. Gilbourn Jr.; as well as a great-granddaughter, Ashley Peaden.
Survivors include his loving wife of 58-1/2 years, Anneita Cooper Gilbourn; a daughter, Jean Gilbourn Johnson and her husband James; nine grandchildren, Shelley Burns and husband Ben, Toni Tyus and fiancé David Millwood, Tonia Hinson and husband Dennis, Zack Tyus and wife Krystal, Charles Johnson, James Johnson,
Samantha McDaniel and husband Chris, Jeremy Johnson and wife Shondra and Veronica Johnson; fifteen great-grandchildren, Austin Peaden, Brian Zerr, Allison Millwood, Alex Millwood, Emma Tyus, Jeremy Johnson Jr., Aubrie Hinson, Kaytlin Tyus, Aionna Johnson, Mary O’Neal, Elizabeth McDaniel, Savannah Johnson, Alexandra McDaniel, Mathew Tyus and Audrina Johnson; and a host of nieces and nephews he dearly loved.
Flowers are accepted and those wishing may send donations to Signature Healthcare at Courtyard Activity Fund, 2600 Forest Glen Trail, Marianna, Fla. 32447 or the Sylvania Cemetery Fund.
The family wishes to give a special thanks to the staff of Signature Healthcare at the Courtyard for the love and care he received the last several years.
