Playing down is the perfect decision

Bainbridge High School has now been selected to move from Class AAAAA sports to Class AAAA sports, courtesy of the Georgia High School Association and they’re approval to let the Bearcats and Thomas County Central play down due to isolation.
This couldn’t be better news for the sports program at BHS.
Previously, the school’s football team was placed in the same Class AAAAA regions as schools in Columbus, meaning more money spent on gas and other expenditures to travel all the way up there and compete.
The GHSA has placed Thomas County Central and the mighty Bearcats in a region with schools like Albany, Crisp County and Westover, all of which are schools closer to Bainbridge.
This means better local competition, less travel expenditures and the opportunity for fans and parents to see the majority of the players play. The new year is looking bright for Bainbridge sports.
