The Bainbridge High School Bearcats and Lady Cats cross-country teams will be competing in the state cross-country meet Saturday in Carrollton.
The Bearcats were runner-ups at the Region 1-AAAA Meet last Thursday in Bainbridge. The Lady Cats qualified for the state meet with a fourth place Region 1-AAAA finish.
The state team is Uriyah Davis, Madison Wiggins, Aida Diaz, Aileen Mejia, Camry Fillingame, Skye Walden and Caitlin Shephard. The alternate is Alaiya Schuyler.
The Region team is Brenden Greene, Bennett Enfinger, Perry Waddell, Nour Hasona, Wright Cook, Grayson Graham and David Brock. The alternate is Taylor Colon.
Bainbridge High School cross-country coach Yvette Greene says the Bearcats are prepared for the challenge of the state course in Carrollton.
“We have prepared by completing rigorous hill and interval workouts,” she said. “All the coaches expect the Bearcats runners to compete well as a team.”
Community coach Greg Waddell says Bainbridge will be represented by a great group of boys and girls who are dedicated to the Bainbridge High School cross country at state this weekend.
