A Bainbridge man is in custody after an armed robbery occurred Thursday night at a residence on the 1700 block of Potter Street.
Around 7:30 p.m. Thursday, a man burst into the residence, demanding money, said Bainbridge Public Safety investigator Chris Jordan. When the three people in the residence told him to leave, he pulled out a handgun and said, “Y’all think I’m kidding.”
The residents gave him $30, reported the incident after he left and said they recognized the man.
BPS officers then arrested Devante Broadnax, 20, who they found near the Potter Street residence, as a suspect, Jordan said.
Broadnax is charged with burglary, armed robbery, possession of a firearm during the commission of/attempt of a crime and three counts of aggravated assault, all of which are felony charges.
