Madelyn Carolyn Maxwell Thomas 77, of Climax, passed away Friday, April 10, 2015 at Memorial Hospital in Bainbridge.
A graveside funeral service was held at 3 p.m. Sunday April 12, 2015 at Pine Forest Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Bruce McCracken officiating. Faith Funeral Home in Havana was in charge of arrangements (850-539-4300 or www.faithfuneralhome.com)
Carolyn was born November 24, 1937 in Reno, Georgia, the daughter of the late Zeron Monroe Maxwell and the late Lena Jane Hammett Maxwell. She was a member of Pine Forest Baptist Church, and she worked as a flower designer for many years. She was well known for her cake baking.
She is survived by her daughter Tracie D. Phillips (husband Ronnie) of Climax, and a granddaughter Megan Deanna Phillips, also of Climax. Two brothers Harold Maxwell of Vada, and Wayne Maxwell (wife Sarah) of Attapulgus; one sister Ann M. Quigg (husband Earl) of Thomasville.
She was preceded in death by her husband Frank Chester Thomas, Jr.; her brothers Clyde, Eugene, Zerom, and Julian Maxwell, and a sister Hellen Cumbie.
Faith Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
