It appears to me that presently our city and county elected officials are communicating.
A few suggestions to help them continue to work together:
1. City council members could assist the county commission in their search for a new administrator, and our county commissioners could assist the city council in their search for a new city manager when the time comes.
2. Provide our county inmates with law books. When several of them pass the bar we will have additional ”in house” counsel.
3. Provide our county inmates with accounting courses. They could audit city and county books.
4. Let these inmates provide monthly financial statements on their own prison.
5. Have a social gathering once a month at different locations: county prison, industrial park, hospital, county offices, board of education, waste disposal site, courthouse and city hall are some suggested venues.
