Bainbridge Middle School Lady Cats and Bearcats basketball teams are busily preparing for their regular season, which gets underway Tuesday, Nov. 9, when they travel to Pelham to take on the Pelham Middle School eighth grade Lady Hornets and Hornets.
Leading the way for coach Marion Bush’s eighth grade Lady Cats will be Denise Chappell, Lashonda Williams, Makyia Keaton Samiya Hines, Destint Dunkin and Danielle Jones.
Leading the way for coach Heith Maxwell’s eighth grade Bearcats will be center Anthony Florence, point guard Dewayne Kyles, guard Randy Bradwell, guard Jeremiah McClain, forward Bobby Willis and guards Kenneth Clark and Tevin McCray.
Also adding depth will be guard Jalyn Pererson, forward Calvin Bowens, center Tyrell Bryant, power forward Jordan Brown, power forward Cincere Johnson, forward Amari Walker, point guard Timothy Tarver and center Tyree Bryant.
Coach Bush and coach Maxwell say that they are extremely pleased with the way early practices have gone.
“Our young ladies are really hustling and getting after it on defense,” coach Bush said. “A number of them played in the seventh grade last year and that has ben extremely helpful.”
“Coach Patrick Clark had a strong seventh grade team last season and many of them have come out for our eighth grade team this season,” coach Maxwell said. “They have been shooting and rebounding well.”
