Cougars give dominating performance against SW Ga. Academy

Coach Mallory McRae’s Grace Christian Academy Cougars basketball team defeated the Southwest Georgia Academy Warriors 77-38 Tuesday in Damascus, improving their record to 12-5.

The Cougars, who are 4-0 in Georgia Independent School Association Region 3-AAA, were led by Jack McRae with 22 points, 8 rebounds and Sam McRae who had 21 points, 1 rebound 7 assists and 3 steals.

Also contributing to the victory were Noah Thomas with 19 points, 1 rebound, 7 blocks, and one steal, Jared Duke with 5 points, Nate Walton with 4 points, 9 rebounds, 1 and a block, Anders Austinson with 2 points, 3 rebounds an a steal Clay Wells with 2 points, and 1 rebound and Jeb Smith with 2 points, and 2 steals.

The Cougars returned to action Friday when they traveled to Cordele to take on the Crisp Academy Wildcats. They will return home Tuesday, Feb. 2, to take on Southwest Georgia Academy at Perry Memorial Gymnasium.

Following the game coach McRae expressed pleasure with his teams overall performance.

“Our guys played extremely well tonight, especially on defense,” he said. “We were all hitting our shots, and we were able to get everyone in the game. It was a great night.”
