Bainbridge Public Safety continued its crackdown on the sale of drugs throughout the area this week as they made multiple arrests. Marlon Garfield Fudge, Alshaakir Webb, Mathew Shakespeare and Markey Hill were all arrested this week and charged with possession of controlled substances.
BPS made contact with Fudge at his residence on Paulette Street on Tuesday after investigator Larry Funderburke received a complaint that Fudge was selling crack cocaine. According to the incident report when officers arrived at his house, Fudge was sitting on the porch. Following a discussion he agreed to show them where he kept the cocaine, which he said, was for his personal use.
Investigators Chip Nix, Funderburke, Mark Esquivel and Chris Jordan recovered 12 pieces of crack cocaine found in Fudge’s dresser. They also seized a set of digital scales and two pipes.
Fudge was charged with possession of controlled substance with intent to distribute and possession of controlled substance with intent within 1000 feet of a park or housing project.
Hill was arrested on Friday and charged with illegal possession of controlled substance with intent to distribute and illegal possession of controlled substance with intent within 1000 feet of a housing project.
“Post office came out to deliver the mail and found the drugs in the mail box,” Nix said. “The investigation led to Markey Hill.”
According to Nix, they recovered 22 bags of marijuana in the mailbox belonging to apartment 3C at the Hutto McIver Apartments located at 851 Martin Luther King Jr. Dr.
Webb and Shakespeare were both arrested and charged with possession of marijuana.
