On Saturday, May 7, a regional band with local ties performed at Turner Field Stadium as part of the “Braves Band of the Year” program.
Dry Weather Sun featuring Bainbridge native, Cody Enfinger; Ryn Palmer Crider of Blakely; with Chris Brooks and Sean Roehler of Enterprise (Ala.) is soulful southern rock band with hints of blues and country intertwined in the mix. Their influences cross all genres, from Etta James to Lynyrd Skynyrd.
Since 2009, the Atlanta Braves has conducted a season-long competition which showcases bands from all over the state. Each band is given the opportunity to entertain thousands of Braves fans either before or after home games.
In addition to performing at Turner Field, Dry Weather Sun has even more exciting performances coming up this summer. On Saturday, May 14, the group will open for the Atlanta Rhythm Section at Buddy Buie’s ‘Faula Fest in Eufaula (Ala.). The proceeds of the two-day golf and music festival will benefit the Medical Center Barbour Fund.
For a more local performance, Dry Weather Sun will perform at The City of Bainbridge’s Downtown Block Party at Willis Park on Friday, May 20, in Bainbridge.
The band is also excited to announce its lead singer, Ryn Crider, has been nominated for a GA Music Award. In April, the GA Music Awards announced Crider as a nominee for Country Female Artist 2016. Winners of the awards are selected based on online voting and a panel of judges prior to the awards show in June.
