Bainbridge High School Lady Cats head soccer coach Chip Ariail and Bainbridge High School Bearcats assistant soccer coach Jamie Ard have planned an upcoming Bearcats Soccer Camp Monday, June 13 through Wednesday, June 15, for 6 to 14 year olds at Centennial Field.
“The camp goals for myself and coach Ard are for campers to always learn new soccer skills, become better players and have a good time,” coach Ariail said. “Camp applications for minors will not be accepted without a parents’ or guardians’ signature.”
The deadline for receiving camp applications, which was originally May 23, has been extended. Camp sessions, which will include instruction in the basic soccer skills of ball control, dribbling, passing, heading, trapping, shooting and defense, will be from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
“In soccer there are two types of free kicks, a direct kick and an indirect kick, and we will instruct the fundamentals and strategies of both,” Ariail said. “We will also talk about the strategy of a corner kick. A corner kick is awarded when the defending team kicks the ball over their own goal line. A goal may be scored directly from a corner kick.”
Youngsters who attend any of the summer soccer camps will receive a camp t-shirt.
