Dorothy Jean McMillan Walden, age 77, passed away early Saturday, June 11, 2016, at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, Georgia. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 15, 2016, in the Cadwell Chapel of Cox Funeral Home. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
Dorothy was born in Grand Ridge, Florida, on January 21, 1939, to James Nixon McMillan and Ella Hewett McMillan. She worked many, many years as manager of the Trailways Bus Station in Bainbridge. Mrs. Walden loved to fish and read. She stayed sharp by working word search and jigsaw puzzles. Dorothy was a dedicated and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Always giving of herself, Dorothy Walden will be sorely missed by the family and many friends she loved so very much.
Dorothy Walden is survived by her children, Ronald Carey McMillan and wife, Denise of Bainbridge and Debra Kaye Eakin of Climax; brothers, Junior McMillan of Bainbridge and Charles McMillan of Jacksonville, Florida; sister, Brenda Strickland of Bainbridge; grandchildren, Nikki Langdon and husband, Tim, Bryan Walden and wife, Amber, Kristie Bowen, Stephen Eakin and wife, Mandy, Natalie Johnson and husband, Keith, Jennifer Bryan, Lisa Palmer and husband, Brian, and George McMillan; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Walden was preceded in death by her parents; children, Sandra Jane Bryan and James Edward Walden; son-in-law, Steve Eakin, Sr.; and great-grandchild, Remington Walden.
