William Michael Leverette

William Michael Leverette, 52, of Bradenton, Florida, formerly of Bainbridge, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2016.

Mike was born December 11, 1963, in Bainbridge. He attended Manatee High School in Bradenton where he lettered in baseball and football. He received offers to play professional baseball for the Yankees, Pirates and Dodgers. He enjoyed all sports, especially cheering on the Miami Hurricanes.

Mike had a passion for many things. He was an avid surfer, fisherman and animal lover. He loved his family and his two beautiful children, Seth and Alexis.

Mike is survived by his parents, Billy Leverette of Cairo, Ga., Linda and Jerry Toms of Bainbridge; his children, Alexis Leverette Tomberlin (Nathan) of Franklin, Tennessee, and Seth Leverette of Bainbridge; siblings Jeff Leverette (Imee) of San Diego, California, Chad Leverette of Cairo, Leslie Toms Harrell (Mike) of Bainbridge, Jenni Toms Vaught (Dave) of Panama City Beach, Florida, Jill Leverette of Orlando, Florida; grandson Levi Tomberlin; Tammy Butler, the mother of their children, and several nieces and nephews.

The family will hold a private memorial service on Anna Maria Island to celebrate Mike’s life.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Bainbridge Humane Society.
