To Thad Pettyjohn, the kids’ golf camp at Bainbridge Country Club is about much more then simply learning the game of golf.
It is an opportunity for campers to interact with kids from around the state and learn not just the game, but about each other.
The camp brought together kids as young as 6 years old to 16 years old.
“We’re trying to have fun and give them something that will give them a little self-worth,” Pettyjohn said. “Not doing it for the money. Not doing it for anything but to have hope.”
The campers were taught by Christa Teno, a former LGPA golfer who currently serves as the head women’s golf coach at Seminole State College.
