Andre Kinder, 39, was arrested by Bainbridge Public Safety at 2:26 p.m. Monday morning by the Sweet Spot on MLK Drive for possession of cocaine.
BPS officers Jonathan Green and Chris Avery received a call from a “concerned citizen” about a suspicious person parked behind the Sweet Spot. Kinder was sitting in the driver’s seat of a burgundy Honda Accord.
When asked what he was doing there, Kinder said he was using the internet. According to the incident report, Green took Kinder’s driver’s license and ran it through for information. It came back as suspended with a lifetime suspension.
Meanwhile, Kinder was acting nervous and reached for his keys in the ignition several times as if he was going to start the car.
He was asked to step out of the vehicle and asked if a search was OK, to which he responded it was his sister’s vehicle and he didn’t care, the report reads. Kinder watched through the window, pacing nervously as Avery searched the car.
Avery found a baggie of a white powdery substance underneath the driver’s seat, identified as cocaine.
Kinder was immediately handcuffed and placed under arrest. He was booked at BPS and transferred to the Decatur County Jail.
