Miss Matthews and Mr. Newsome to wed in October

Miss Meggan Matthews, daughter of Joe and Beth Matthews of Lawrenceville, Ga., is engaged to wed Matthew Newsome, son of Eddie and Patricia Newsome of Bainbridge.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Joann Matthews and the late Thomas Matthews of Lilburn, Ga. and the late Ernest Kessler and the late Theresa Kessler of Athens, Ga.

Miss Matthews is a 2005 graduate of Grayson High School, and is a graduate of Georgia College and State University with a degree in marketing. She is employed at Moxie.

The groom-to-be is the grandson of May Bell Green and the late Robert Riley Green of Bainbridge; and of the late Lenwood Everette Newsome Sr. and the late Jeanette Newsome of Bainbridge.

Mr. Newsome is a 2005 graduate of Bainbridge High School, and is a graduate of the University of Georgia, where he majored in advertising. He is employed with PureCars.

The wedding is planned for October 23, 2016, at 3 p.m. in Monroe, Ga., where the reception will follow. Invitations will be sent.
