Senior Andre Jackson is the 2016 Bainbridge High School Homecoming King, and Nyla Register, Gracie Surratt, Megan Leigh Welch, Tamela Butler, Makayla Cooper, Mary Mercer Reynolds, Sarah Michael Farrington, Keyarra Choice, Nekaybaw Washington and Gracie Waddell make up this year’s court.

Jackson, 18, is the son of Andre Jackson Sr. and Janet Randell. He is a Bearcat football player and a member of the baseball team. Along with playing sports, he enjoys listening to music and hanging out with friends. His future plans include attending Georgia Tech and majoring in Engineering.

Freshman Nyla Register, 14, is the daughter of Tamieka Montgomery and Tay Cody. She plays basketball and cheers. She was a member of the BMS Student Council and participated in Talent Search. Register is an A/B honor roll student who enjoys singing & dancing. She attends Life Church. Her future career plans include becoming either a dentist or a pharmacist. 

Surratt, a freshman, is the 14-year-old daughter of Shawn and Cristi Surratt. is a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes, National Junior Honor Society and FBLA. Surratt is involved in PAMO Tennis Academy and is an A Honor Roll student. She is a member of the BHS Marching Band and was recognized in both seventh and eighth grades as Outstanding Brass Player. She attends Wiregrass Church where she serves in the children’s area and is a small group mentor.  She enjoys playing tennis and spending time on the Flint River boating with family and friends.  Surratt plans to attend UGA and then medical school to become a Cardiothoracic Surgeon. 

Welch, a sophomore, is the daughter of Christy Watson and Doyle Welch. Shen is a member of the BHS Marching Band Danceline. She enjoys shopping, hanging out with friends and loves visiting Disney theme parks. Welch, 15, is a member of Beulah Thomas Baptist Church. She plans to attend college and to one day become a doctor. 

Butler, 15, is the daughter of Tiffany Rambo. She is a member of FCA, Science Club, FBLA, 4-H and Student Council.  She is also a Diamond Doll for the BHS Baseball Team. She is an honor roll student and has received the American Citizenship Award. Butler is a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church. She volunteers in the 21st Century after school program and as a Salvation Army bell ringer. Butler enjoys photo graphics, eating and spending time with family and friends. Her future plans include attending Mercer University to major in Law and minor in Digital Media and Web Technology.

Cooper, a junior, is the 16-year-old daughter of Grace and Greg Cooper, Sr. She is a BHS basketball cheerleader, where she was awarded the “Most dedicated & spirited” award.  She is also a member of the Lady Cats Track and Field Team and has received the “Coaches” award.  She is a member of the Golden Rule Club and an honor roll student and has been awarded the American Citizenship award. Cooper is involved in her church youth group. She enjoys swimming, shopping, running and long jumping. Her career goals include becoming a dental hygienist. 

Mary Mercer Reynolds, 17, is the daughter of Edward and Tonya Reynolds. Mary Mercer is a BHS Bearcat football cheerleader and has participated on the competition cheer squad as well.  She is an “All region honorable mention” varsity soccer player and a member of Key Club, Anchor Club, FFA and National Honor Society. She was also a participant in the Raymond Miles Youth Leadership Program. Mary Mercer enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading and traveling. She is a member of First United Methodist Church and the Bainbridge-Decatur County Humane Society. She plans to attend the University of Georgia and major in Physical Therapy. 

Senior Sarah Michael Farrington, 17, is the daughter of Brent and Wende Farrington. She is a section leader in the BHS Bearcat Band and a member of Anchor Club, National Honor Society and Literary Team, where she was chosen as a state qualifier in the writing competition. She is also a student of Bainbridge State College Honor’s Program. Farrington is an Academic Letterman, a College Board AP Scholar, University of Georgia Merit Scholar and a Governor’s Honors Program semifinalist. She is a member of First United Methodist Church and sings with the Praise Band. She is involved with Bainbridge Community Band and Bainbridge Little Theater.  She enjoys singing, acting, listening to music, going to the beach and spending time with family and friends. Farrington’s future includes pursuing a degree in Law.

Choice is the 17-year-old daughter of Shen’e McNair and Eddie Choice, Sr. She enjoys cooking and became servsafe certified through CTAE. Choice, a senior, enjoys working with children, shopping and spending her free time with family and friends. She plans to attend Valdosta University and pursue a nursing degree. 

Washington, a senior, is the daughter of Shemakia Moye and Dell Washington. She is an A/B Honor Roll student at BHS. She values and demonstrates the opportunity of “always giving back” by supporting the Salvation Army. Washington, 18, enjoys shopping and spending time with her friends. She looks forward to moving away to college and experiencing the “dorm lifestyle” as she begins her journey of success.

Waddell, 17, is the daughter of Chad and Amy Waddell. She is a member of Anchor Club, National Honor Society, Bearcat Marching Band Danceline and Diamond Dolls. She also plays on the BHS Tennis Team. She is on the Steering Committee for the Raymond Miles Youth Leadership Program and is involved in Leisure Services and volunteers for Special Olympics.  Gracie is an American Citizenship Award recipient and a Principals Honor Roll student. She was also a BHS delegate for Girls State. Waddell is a member of Dothan Church of Christ Youth Group and enjoys dance, playing tennis and hanging out with friends. Her future plans include attending UGA for her undergraduate degree and then continuing her education to become a Physical Therapist.
