Bainbridge High School senior Haley Helms put pen to paper on Thursday and committed herself to four more years of swimming at Thomas University.
Helms is the second Bainbridge swimmer to sign this year from the region champion team.
Although she is swimming at the next level, she remains close to home.
“Everything worked out well, it’s a very small college,” said Helms. “I really liked it and the coach was amazing.”
Helms swam the breathstroke for the Lady Cat swimming team, but her event at Thomas has yet to be determined.
Her work put in at Bainbridge has paid off, and Helms looks forward to competing at the next level.
“It feels really, really good,” Helms said about heading to the next level. “I worked really hard and it came out and everybody around me really helped me with that.”
