The 2017 Georgia State Games is ecstatic to announce that the BB Shooting Championships had a record-breaking weekend of 198 shooters show up and fight to be the medal winners. The results for both BB and Air Rifle Shooting from this past Saturday are posted on the Georgia Games’ website.
Air Rifle Championships had their first annual with the Georgia Games and are excited to come back next year. Youth shooters came in impressive numbers to vie for Georgia Games’ gold. This premiere event really hit the target to win gold, silver, and bronze positions in Carrollton county.
Georgia Games strives to make this season their biggest yet with additions to their list of championships, and a continuance of the celebration of an Olympic atmosphere throughout the state of Georgia.
“The huge turnout of BB shooters puts us off to a great start,” Georgia Games Executive Director Eric Pfeifer said. “We have a full plate of diverse individual sports as well as team sports to represent for this summer.”
The Georgia State Games was founded in 1989. Through sponsorships the organization has been able to maintain the tradition. The championships are an Olympic-style, multi-sports festival that holds events and tournaments.
All of Georgia’s residents are eligible to register and compete in this open invitation, state sports festival.
The top three winners in each category will qualify for the National State Games of America (SGA) being held this year in Grand Rapids, Michigan the first week in August.
