Marion Carl Brock was born January 16, 1941, in Green Cove Springs, Fla., the son of Clayton Brock and Orian Harrell Brock. He made the decision to serve his country in the United States Navy at the age of 17. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church and owned Brock’s Saw Shop.

Carl was a hard worker with a dry sense of humor. Family and friends heard him say often, “Brain in gear before mouth in motion.” He spent many hours in the saw shop repairing saws, woodworking and sharing stories with his customers. Every now and then he would take a break to play cards or catch a few fish. His dog, Bear, and his family, especially the grandchildren, brought a smile to his face with their shenanigans.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Mary Brock; his children, Mitch Brock, Kim B. Merchant and her husband, Lee, all of Bainbridge and Robin Brock and Sergio Ginaldi of Tallahassee, Fla.; his siblings, Delores Faircloth and her husband, Tommy, of Cuthbert, Phyllis Newton of North Augusta, SC, Richard Brock of Bainbridge, Tony Brock of Thomasville, Steve Brock and his wife, Lucy, of Donalsonville, Sherrie Culver and her husband, Jerry, of Villa Rica, Ga., Jimmy Brock and his wife, Joy, of McDonough, Ga., and Marty Brock and his wife, Beth, of Bainbridge; his grandchildren, Carley Brock, Brock and Kenzi Merchant, Jalyn Mills, Blake Merchant and Elijah Brock; his one great-granddaughter, Avin Merchant; and his beloved dog, Bear. Carl was preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers, Douglas Brock and Kenneth Brock.
