In this distracting, digital-driven world, it’s easy for a teen’s relationship with God to dwindle.
Fortunately, The Fellowship of Christian Athletes will give them an opportunity to rekindle their faith in the company of friends and peers.
Centennial Field will be filled with Bainbridge students this Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. for the sixth annual Fields of Faith event, where they will share testimonies, challenge each other to read the Bible and come to faith in Jesus Christ.
Decatur County students will be just a few of hundreds of thousands who will take a stand across the U.S. Wednesday on their athletic fields as they share their stories and their favorite scriptures from the Word of God.
This year’s special guest will be 2017 Miss Georgia Alyssa Beasley. Music will be provided by the Southwest Baptist Youth Praise Band.
Fields of Faith began in 2002 when Oklahoma FCA area director Jeff Martin prayed about what to do with his heart-felt frustration regarding the temptations and spiritual battles facing today’s youth. He was led to the bible story of King Josiah, an influential teenager who gathered his people and challenged them to read God’s Word.
Josiah’s story of spiritual revolution gave Martin a vision for Fields of Faith. On the second Wednesday of October every year, students gather on their school’s athletic field for the annual event.
If a team is losing, they got back to the fundamentals. Fields of Faith aims to take that same approach to a youth’s faith in God.
Fields of Faith will last from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. and is free.
