Adrienne Harrison, president of the Bainbridge Decatur County Chamber of Commerce, updated the Bainbridge Lions Club Wednesday on the goals of the organization.
“In developing our goals, we first asked our local citizens what we can do to enhance certain goals they are especially interested in. Then, we asked ourselves what we can do to best bring those goals to reality.
“In developing our overall plan we focused on work force development and what various skills can be furthered at the college and technical school levels to enhance young peoples’ potential.”
Harrison further pointed out that the chamber is totally focused on providing more and better opportunities for all of its members. “On December 18, at noon, at the Charles H. Kirbo Regional Center, we will be providing a seminar for elected officials. We have a strong program planned and we think everyone who attends will get a lot from it.”
Continuing her comments to the Lions, Harrison said she thought the recently completed Flint River Fair was a big success. “Since the fair was moved from the fair grounds to the Earle May Boat Basin we have a lot more room,” she said. River Town Days was also a big success there.
“We want citizens like you to tell us what you want your Chamber of Commerce to do for you. We welcome and desire input from our citizens. We are especially interested in what we can do for our young people because they will be our future leaders. And, we want to best tap their potential. We want to develop work forces at all levels.”
