The Honor House Veterans Center received a very generous donation from “The Edward C. Fogg and Lisbeth A. Fogg Charitable Trust.”
“This donation was a much-needed shot in the arm for the Honor House,” said Dan West, a member of the Honor Sentinels who helped lead the charge for building the Veterans Center. “We are now able to move forward with improving the house and adding the needed items for the inside.”
West said when the Honor House is finished, it will have computers, a game room, a library, a therapy room and a TV room. The library will be full of PTSD friendly books. Southwest Regional Library has offered to keep a fresh supply of books. The house will also offer a therapist trained to deal with PTSD. Sessions will begin in March.
A lawyer from Jacksonville and a doctor from Gainesville are being set up for once a month visits, as needed.
All services offered by the Honor House Veterans Center are free to all veterans, West said. All it takes is show your DD214 or VA card and you are in. The Honor House is a private owned Veterans Center, so access is restricted to veterans and active duty military only.
Veterans are welcome to come hang out, enjoy the services offered and fellowship with other veterans. For now, The Honor House Veterans Center at 818 S.
