BHS tennis wipes out TCC

The Bearcats and Lady Bearcats annihilated Thomas County Central in Tuesday’s tennis matchup, winning both matches 5-0.
Lady Bearcats’ singles player, Mikey Harrell, beat her opponent 6-0, 6-0 and Sydnee Burke also beat out her opponent 6-0, 6-0.
Gracie Surratt continued to have success in the singles division, winning her match 6-1, 6-1.
Doubles team, Megan Meszaros and Sarah Caroline Darley, won 6-3, 6-2 and set the stage for Jade Stacey and Bree Powell, who won 6-1, 6-1.
The Bearcats were determined to keep the winning streak going.
Singles player, Dalton Savage, came out strong, beating his opponent 6-1, 6-1. Robert Shockley won his first game 6-1, and played a close matchup of 6-4 in his next set. Mark Loeffler finished out the wins for the singles division, winning 6-1, 6-1.
Doubles team, Lawson Humphrey and Jacob Reynolds won 6-3, 6-3 and Hudson Barber and teammate; Cole Buchanan won 6-2, 6-2. This final win lit up the board as BHS won every match played.
Coach Amy Thomas was proud of everyone.
“This was our first region match,” she said. “To sweep the whole thing in our first match was amazing. I was very proud.”
Thomas continued to speak on how every player knew their job and executed it to the best of their ability. Thomas looks forward to their next region matchup, where the team can show off their skillset again.
