These funds will help rural hospitals across Georgia facing financial crisis to ensure the availability of adequate health care for its citizens.

“Fundraising is about relationships.  It is about casting the vision of your organization.  It is about being honest about the challenges and you are facing and clearly explaining how community involvement in the Georgia Heart Program has the ability to transform our hospital,” said Harrell.

During her time at Bainbridge State College/ABAC at Bainbridge she launched a very successful employee giving program as well as led the efforts for the college’s first ever capital campaign.

With BSC Foundation’s assets more than doubling in less than five years, Harrell brings a wealth of fundraising knowledge to MHM.

Memorial Hospital and Manor CEO Jim Lambert expressed confidence in Harrell’s ability saying, “We are excited to have someone with Lauren’s passion and enthusiasm for our community join our team.  We are looking forward to the expertise she will bring with her vast knowledge in nonprofit fundraising”

In addition to fundraising, Harrell looks forward to fostering more partnerships within the community, and helping raise overall awareness of Memorial Hospital’s dedicated and talented employees and medical staff.

A graduate of Florida State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Public Administration from Valdosta State University, Harrell served as president of DeHildren Realty prior to working with Bainbridge State College. She is widely known in the community through her involvement with numerous charitable and civic organizations.

Harrell is married to Mark Harrell and they have three children, Tanner, Katie and Ella.
