His word

Those of us, who do believe that the Bible is God’s word, let us do a little examination of its contents.
We first find in Genesis 1:3 what God said, God spoke our world into existence, a marvel that is far beyond our comprehension. As we allow ourselves to become acquainted with the word of God, we become more familiar with his miracles and understand what St. Mark meant when he said in St. Mark 10:27, “For with God all things are possible.”
The word was spoken to Adam and Eve. They failed to obey and man set the course toward death as God had told them would happen if they did not obey his word, around 2,500 years later. God saw the wickedness of man, and it grieved him at his heart. God considered destroying man.
But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord, as Noah was a just man, perfect in his generation and Noah walked with God. God told Noah to build an ark, and gave him certain instructions on how to build it. This Noah did as he was instructed.
When the flood came to destroy all flesh as God said he would do, only Noah, his wife, their three sons and their wives were saved. All because they obeyed God’s word.
The Bible tells us it took seven days for the waters to cover the earth (Genesis 7:10). The rain was upon the earth 40 days and 40 nights (Genesis 7:12).
We find the same cycle of mankind with God continued. God gives man His word with instructions that are to be followed to the letter, but man seems bent on not obeying God. We all know about the devil and his wicked ways. How he deceived Eve in the beginning. Adam and Eve certainly knew better than to partake of the forbidden fruit.
As we see and read the word of God, there are many, many stories and illustrations of the people of God, how they would live for God and keep his commandments for a while, and then would look and desire to be like the world.
The Apostle Paul said it like this in II Timothy 4:3-4: “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.”
This today is the going and acceptable way for the modern denominal church to live and function. God’s word is no longer leading man; man is directing his own path, which is leading man on the road of self destruction.
One example, now there are several different versions of the Bible, but one of the most familiar is the New King James version, which has removed the word “Lord” 66 times, the word “God” 51 times, and the word “heaven” 50 times. In just the New Testament alone, the New King James version removes 2,289 words from the King James Version. In all, the New King James version makes more than 100,000 word changes.
It was about 1,450 years before Jesus was born that the Israelites were on their way to Canaan, Moses was about to die and was turning the charge of the Israelites over to Joshua (Deuteronomy 3:28 and 4:1-2) saying, “Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you neither shall ye diminish aught from it, that ye may keep the commandment of the Lord your God which I command you.”
The same is written in the book of (Revelations 22:18-19): “For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: Verse 19. And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. (II Peter 1:21) “For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: But holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
Jesus said (St. John 5:39), “Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.”
Jeremiah said (Jeremiah 6:19), “Hear, O earth: behold, I will bring evil upon this people, even the fruit of their thoughts, because they have not hearkened unto my words, nor to my law, but rejected it.”
Paul said (Hebrews 4:12) “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword …” Paul said (Galatians 6:7), “Be not deceived.”
Paul said (Hebrews 13:8-9), “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. Verse 9, be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines.”
Man today is altering God’s Holy Word, watering it down, compromising it and just giving the people lip service and not the whole word of God. Just as Paul said in 2 Timothy 4:3-4, “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; verse 4 and they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
