Wednesday, August 15 is City Hall Selfie Day.

Every year the nation promotes their local and city government with Selfie Day, but Bainbridge was contacted by the Georgia Municipal Association and asked to participate, according to Julie Harris.

Harris said the goal is to bring awareness to local government buildings and show the city’s pride for their government.

It’s simple to participate. Residents stop by City Hall, 101 South Broad Street, and snap a picture in front of the building. They then can post the photos on Facebook and Instagram and hashtag them #CityHallSelfie and #GaCities

The hashtags will allow for residents to view other communities participating in the day and to see city halls across the state, while people celebrate their government facilities.

Individuals can use an old picture they have already taken in front of the building before, just as long as they use the current hashtags and don’t post until Wednesday.
