Sprint on the Flint triathlon coming in October

The third annual Sprint on the Flint Triathlon will return to the Earle May Boat Basin next month for triathletes to put their fitness to the test.
The triathlon is a three-part event that will begin with a 400-meter swim, followed by a 10-mile bike ride and finish with a 5K run.
Registration includes a signature race T-shirt, a post-race meals and beer for all participants of legal drinking age.
The course will begin on the Flint River and be the exact same as last year. Early registration for individuals ends September 30 and costs $75 for USAT members and $90 for non-USAT mem-bers.
Georgia Multisports have recommended that 15 be the minimum age to participate, however if a parent believes their child is capable of competing at this level or has seen their child compete in a triathlon before and is younger than 15, they are able to give their permission and the Recrea-tion Authority will evaluate the runner and agree.
Volunteers for the event are needed. If you are interested in volunteering, contact Julie Harris at (229) 243-8555.
Registration can be made at www.gamultisports.com or playbainbridge.com. For more infor-mation, call (229) 243-8555.
