On October 23, 2018, Southern Natural Gas Company, a Kinder Morgan operated company, contributed $6,000 to Decatur County Fire & Rescue.

The donation is intended to help the county purchase valuable equipment for its emergency operations.

“Southern Natural Gas Company is pleased to support Decatur County Fire & Rescue and the firefighters that consistently go above and beyond in their call of duty,” said Matthew Thompson, Operations Manager for Southern Natural Gas Company. “We’ve operated in Decatur County for decades and it’s our honor to give back to this community, especially in the wake of Hurricane Michael.”

“We are very grateful for this donation from Southern Natural Gas Company,” stated County Administrator Alan Thomas. “This donation will allow our fire department to purchase much needed equipment to better serve Decatur County.”

A check presentation event was held at the Decatur County Commission meeting on Tuesday.
