Carolyn Virginia Knight was born September 17, 1935, in Climax, Ga., the daughter of Cuy and Ethyl Taylor Knight. She was a graduate of Climax High School. Carolyn married Bonnie Alton Harrison and they made their home in Decatur County. She retired from Decatur County Board of Education and was a member of First Baptist Church.

Carolyn loved her community, her church family and her friends. She spent time volunteering for Memorial Hospital and the Salvation Army and regularly sent sympathy and get well cards to those she thought needed a word of encouragement. She had a sweet spirit and with a grateful heart knew the importance of small things. Carolyn made sure she spent time in The Word every day and her devotions were shared with whomever may be visiting. She maintained close ties with her family and would tell you her great-grands were her heart. She enjoyed gospel music and even played the piano by ear. Pretty things, from flowers to draperies, always caught Carolyn’s eye. Not a day passed that Carolyn did not thank God for her children, grands and siblings.

Survivors include her children, Joy Harrison Forrester of Bainbridge, and Bob Harrison of Tallahassee, Fla.; her siblings, Eldra & Wayne Cutchens of Seneca, SC, Sarah Harrison of Tallahassee, Cuy Knight of Jackson, Ga., Latrelle & Max Goggins of Ponte Vedra, Fla., and Durwood & Carol Knight of Cohutta, Ga.; her grandchildren, Wesley & Christy Ingram, Robert Charles & Jessica Harrison, and Christina & Bryan Dubar; and her great-grandchildren, Landen, Kolten, Isabella, Logan and Isaac. In addition to parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Bonnie Alton Harrison.
