Bainbridge back in win column after 5-3 win over Lady Bulldogs

Bainbridge snapped out of a six game losing streak when the Lady Cats beat Thomasville 5-3 Thursday evening at the BHS fields.
The Lady Cats are 3-8 on the season and 1-2 in Region 1-AAAAA.
Lexie Delbrey toed the rubber for the Lady Cats, allowing four hits and three runs over seven innings while striking out 15 and walking one.
The Lady Bulldogs starting pitcher surrendered five runs on five hits over six innings, striking out four.
Keyleigh Brinson went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Lady Cats at the plate.
The Lady Cats have time to regain ground in the region with games against Harris County and Thomas County Central coming toward the end of the month. Bainbridge will also close out region play with a doubleheader against Warner Robins to open up October.
Tuesday against the Lady Yellow Jackets, TCC grabbed an early lead and didn’t let up, running up the score for a 9-1 win.
Bainbridge struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing TCC, giving up nine runs.
Delbrey started the game for Bainbridge, going four and two-thirds innings, allowing six runs on three hits and striking out nine. Brinson threw one inning out of the bullpen.
Brinson, Destiny Woodard, and Diah Brown each collected one hit to lead the Lady Cats.
The Lady Cats will host Worth County on Monday at 5:30 p.m. before traveling to Lowndes County on Tuesday, Sept. 10, and Colquitt County on Tuesday, Sept. 17.
