All eyes will be on The Swamp this Saturday.
Auburn, the No. 7 team in the land, travels to Florida, No. 10, for a game that will finally tell us just how good (or bad) both teams are.
Auburn has looked dominant in every area of the game, especially considering how the offense is led by true freshman Bo Nix at quarterback. Florida looks better like it’s gaining some confidence after transitioning to quarterback Kyle Trask and its defensive front has looked pretty vicious. Florida has more and more been giving the rock to former Bainbridge player Dameon Pierce. He is second in rushing for the Gators with 158 yards and two touchdowns. I bet we’ll see a whole lot more of Pierce against Auburn. It could be his big coming out party.
Georgia’s coaches will be referring to footage of this game multiple times later this season, as the Dawgs will play both teams on the road. As it stands right now, Auburn and Florida are the two toughest games left on Georgia’s schedule.
Up in the Big 10, Michigan State travels to Ohio State. I thought the Spartans would compete for a Big 10 East title at the beginning of the season, but after seeing how good the Buckeyes look, I think their hopes will end on Saturday in the Horseshoe. Hopefully it’s at least a little competitive.
