Mrs. Katie A. Dasher, age 87, passed away Friday, November 8, 2019, at Bainbridge Healthcare Center. Services for Mrs. Dasher will be held at 3 pm, Monday, November 11, 2019, at the Cadwell Chapel of Cox Funeral Home. The Rev. DeWitt Phillips will officiate. Matthew Phillips, Robbie Phillips, Logan Holley, Aiden Tabb, Hunter Tabb, and Corbin McMillian will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow in Eldorendo Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the service, beginning at 2.

Katie A. Phillips was born September 2, 1932 in Colquitt, Georgia to Maston O’Neal Phillips and Ruth Donalson Phillips. Katie was a smart and gracious lady. She and her husband, Malvin P. Nix, were parents to four daughters. She and Malvin were married for 28 years. Katie was a loving and supportive mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a wonderful teacher of pre-k and kindergarten classes. Katie loved children and they loved her. At Eldorendo Baptist Church, she was a faithful, involved member. Katie married Jack T. Dasher. She and Jack enjoyed 16 years together before his passing. Katie enjoyed the people and the activities at the Decatur County Sr. Center. Always caring for others before herself, loving, and caring, Katie Dasher will be deeply missed by her family and many friends.

Katie Dasher is survived by her children, Sandra Ecklund of Bainbridge and Brenda Pearlman of Tallahassee, Florida; siblings, Dollie Childree of Brinson, Georgia, Maston O’Neal Phillips, Jr. and wife, Pat of Colquitt, Georgia, and Lois Wilburn of Coolidge, Georgia; son-in-law, Glenn Colwell of Colquitt; grandchildren, Jason Tabb and wife, Lauren of Bainbridge, Christina Crather and husband, Joe of Tallahassee, Rusty Tabb and wife, Dana of Damascus, Georgia, Heather Lynn-Siobhan Colwell of Colquitt, Stephanie Bean Jones of Panama City, Florida, Jacob Poe and wife, Kelly of Dothan, Alabama, and Alicia Chaney of Leesburg, Georgia; and 21 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Maston O’Neal and Ruth Donalson Phillips; husbands, Malvin P. Nix and Jack T. Dasher; daughters, Nora Katherine Colwell and Rebecca Nix; grandson, Erik Matthew Colwell; and siblings, Bobby Phillips, Wilson Phillips, Myra Strange, Yvonne Gaston, William Phillips, and Harry Phillips.
