With the holidays right around the corner, Grace Christian Academy is well under way in preparing for their annual winter festival.
This festival is one of GCA’s biggest fundraisers and is hosted every year the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. The money raised at the festival is used to improve the school campus. The money raised in previous years has helped remodel the gym floors, add retractable bleachers and purchase the GCA bus.
However, this year promises to be the best yet.
The festival will be Tuesday, Dec. 3 and begin at 4 p.m. The festival will include games, concessions, a sweet shop, the treasure chest, a live and silent auction and the Cougar art gallery.
Kids can enjoy riding the Choo Choo train, singing in the Karaoke Booth, taking a photo in the photo booth, playing carpet ball, corn hole or pro golf. They can also try swinging on the wrecking ball or competing on the obstacle course. When they tire out, they can visit the hot chocolate bar and concession stand.
The true event of the night is the live auction. Some of the items being auctioned off this year are a week stay at stone ridge chalet in Dahlonega, a Southwind Plantation dinner for 10, four SEC championship tickets, dinner for eight at The American, a state of the art firing range experience with a pistol and much more.
There will also be a silent auction taking place, where approximately 125 items will be up for grabs, including class art projects, home décor and more.
For those who don’t win anything during the live or silent auction, they still have plenty of opportunity to try their hand at the treasure chest.
Individuals can also purchase a raffle ticket for $10 and be entered for a chance to win a Louis Vuitton Neverful and Keepall 55 luggage set, a Beneli Montefeltro 12 ga semi automatic or $1,000 cash. They must be 18 to win, though.
Kids who still want to participate in a raffle have their own chance, when purchasing a wristband. They will be automatically entered to win things such as a Nintendo Switch console or Apple airpods.
Armbands cost $25 and can be purchased at GCA. Both armbands and raffle tickets are already available for purchase.
GCA wants to thank all their sponsors for their support and invites everyone to come out to this family friendly event.
