Jam out on Saturday night with some of your favorite patriotic tunes as The City of Bainbridge puts on a musically- choreographed fireworks display show.
Due to COVID-19, this year’s fireworks show will be a drive in, however special events coordinator, Laura Brown does not expect this minor setback to keep the celebration from being attended by many.
The Boat Basin will open at 9 p.m. on Saturday evening for cars to begin filling the lot. Bainbridge Public Safety and City employees will be directing traffic to the old boat ramp or the green space in front of the entertainment complex, depending on weather.
Once parked, guests can then tune their radio to Live 101.9 and prepare for a fireworks spectacular.
Brown said several people have inquired about getting out of their vehicles, and she said guests will be allowed to get out. She understands some may opt to sit in the back of the truck while sitting on a blanket.
“We would prefer you to stay in your vehicle, but you can sit in the back of the truck as long as you maintain social distancing and follow CDC guidelines,” Brown said.
Brown also understands some guests will be weary of traffic and said they can continue to park on Shotwell Street, as they have done in the past and the parking lots near the ballfields will also be open and great for viewing.
The fireworks show will begin at 9:45 p.m. and last for approximately 16 minutes.
Brown encourages everyone to come out and enjoy a fun night of a fireworks spectacular.
