Robert Whitney III, 72 of Bainbridge passed away Friday, November 6, 2020 at John D. Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, Georgia. Robert was born on April 4, 1948 to the late Mr. Robert and Virginia (Jacobs) Whitney Jr. in Columbus, Georgia. Robert graduated high school in Panama City and later earned an associate’s degree that allowed him to work for many years as a technician for General Telephone in the Bradenton area. He and his beloved wife, Sonja, settled in Bainbridge in 1998 after his retirement. In his spare time, Robert loved to watch Florida Gator football and taking care of his dogs.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Mrs. Sonja (Council) Whitney of Bainbridge; daughter: Nikki (Abraham) Flowers of Bainbridge; grandchildren: Faith Whitney and Emory Flowers; a special cousin: Jan Wathen; as well as numerous extended family members and friends.

Memorialization will be by cremation.
