Robert Earl Sodrel was born July 26, 1937, in Perry, Ind., the son of Earnest & Myrle Badger Sodrel. After high school, Bob worked in construction, retiring as owner of Sodrel Construction. He married Linda Glass in 1985 and they made their home in LaBelle, Fla. until 2005 when they made the move to Climax. Bob was a member of Pine Forest Baptist Church.

When Bob wasn’t working on a project, he was raising and training horses. He enjoyed every aspect of horse shows and sometimes worked with up to 37 horses at one time. He kept up with politics and found that riding his tractor gave him plenty of time to sort through his thoughts on a particular matter. Bob loved his family and grandchildren were the icing on the cake.

Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Linda Glass Sodrel; his children, Daniel & Amy Sodrel of  Climax, Noah & Tammy Sodrel of LaBelle, Fla., Martin & Roberta Sodrel also of LaBelle, Vic & Lynda Sodrel of Whigham, Ga., Earnest & Lorie Sodrel of Live Oak, Fla., and Dina Donato of Oregon; his grandchildren, Reagan, Lane, Steven & Jordan, Sarah, Robert, John, Jake, Joey & Stacey, and Cynthia; his eleven great-grandchildren; his siblings, Bobby Hornbrook, Donna Bowden, Lyn Goodhue, and James Sodrel; and a host of extended family. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his son, Christopher Donato, and his siblings, Jack Sodrel and Gail Askin.
