Annette Lynn Smithson, age 87, passed away Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at Memorial Manor in Bainbridge, Georgia.  Services for Mrs. Smithson were held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 24 at Christian Faith Church.  Pastor Ron Kirkland and Rev. Lynn Massey officiated.  Interment followed in Roselawn Memory Gardens.  The family received friends one hour before the service, beginning at 10:00.

Annette Lynn was born January 7, 1935, in Miller County, Georgia.  Her parents, William Andrew Lynn and Irene Cleveland Lynn, have preceded her in death.  In 1952 Annette married the love of her life, John Louis Smithson, Sr. Annette worked for Coca Cola as an inspector and retired from Hormel Foods.  Annette served as a volunteer at Memorial Hospital in Bainbridge for many years.  Music was a huge part of her life.  She played the piano and organ from a very young age.  Annette was a dedicated member of Christian Faith Church.  She served as church organist for over 25 years.  During that time, she only missed 3 Sundays.  Talented, faithful, kind, those words describe Annette.  She will be deeply missed by her family and many, many friends.

Mrs. Smithson is survived by her children, Linda D. Williams (Frank) of Bainbridge and John Louis Smithson, Jr. of Kenosha, Wisconsin; her sister, Yvonne Yates of Lynn Haven, Florida; 5 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband passed away in 2000; her siblings, Montine Massey, Elsie Merkison, Lois Sheffield, Bill Lynn, L. E. Lynn, Felton Lynn, Ellis Lynn, and Lloyd (Toby) Lynn; and granddaughter, Tina Darnell Hiers.

Annette was blessed and the family grateful to have the care and support of Kindred Hospice.  Donations made be made in honor of Annette to Kindred Hospice, 432 East Shotwell Street, Bainbridge, Georgia 39819.
