On Thursday morning, a small crowd of teachers and family members gathered in the Bainbridge High School gymnasium, as several senior members of Bearcat Workforce Now signed with various local businesses. These students included Javen and Jaxen Houghton, who both signed with Metro Power; William Goodson, who signed with Sanfilipo; Edwin Gomez also signed with Metro Power; Jaden Preston signed with BASF; De’Zhreon Donaldson signed with A1Truss; and William Amerison also signed with A1 Truss.
In addition to the signing, the ceremony recognized graduates of the Bearcat Workforce Now program, including Devonshay Tarver, Goodson, Vershartae Akins, both Jaxen and Javen Houghton, Elexis Warner, Donaldson, Talaisha White, Gomez, Amerison, and Preston.
“I just want to say congratulations to you students that were offered a job,” BHS assistant principal Scott Miller said. “I’m excited for each one of you, and I thank each one of the industries that are represented here today. This is just our second year in this program, so we’re gonna continue to try to tweak it, improve it and expand on it and make it better as we go forward.”
