Gracie worked for years as an operator for Southern Bell, retiring as a dispatch clerk from the Albany office in 1984. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
Gracie was known to be “spoiled”. She was a prissy thing who loved her lipstick and a good yard sale. As a phenomenal seamstress, Gracie is credited with making many of her girls’ dresses.
