The Bearcats host the Crisp County Cougars Friday for a preseason scrimmage.
Bainbridge Head Coach Jeff Littleton said he’s excited for his players to compete against someone other than each other.
“We’ll be able to see the execution coming from playing against our offense and defense all summer long,” Littleton said. “We’ll see if we can carry it over to another team.”
The team will run the regular season game plan for the preseason matchup.
“We’ll throw everything in there, get it all on film, and see what we need to improve on,” Littleton said.
Littleton said he’s hoping to see high-level execution from his team Friday. The team has been running practices throughout the summer, and Littleton is looking to see how well the team can execute and improve on those things.
Littleton described Crisp County as a “very solid program.” The team has seen success in recent years, finishing as the AAA state runners-up in 2019. The Cougars have two players committed to college programs. Senior linebacker Kevon Merrell is committed to Eastern Carolina University, and offensive lineman Barry Walker is committed to the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
“It’s going to be fun to finally see someone different,” Littleton said.
The game kicks off at 7:30 p.m. at Centennial Field.
